The Bjørndalen band from abroad approached me with a cover track idea. Instruments were recorded across different parts of the world, creating challenges overcome through post-production and overdubbing. Conveying "consciousness absorption" by the mermaid in the chorus was particularly challenging.

Old friends approached me to record an EP of four deep, almost tomb-like alternative hip-hop tracks. We used room recording techniques, and created unique vocal and space sounding techniques in the mixing. The work hasn't been released, maybe it will come out someday...

ABOUT
SHORT: 28 years old, 20 years in music. Studied various instruments: violinist, tubist, drummer, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist. 10 years in professional production, recording, arranging, sound design, vocal and textual production in various proportions. Also mastered cinematography and editing, including color grading, with certificates from New Cinema School and online KHS programs.
LONG: Started with violin at music school in a quiet part of Saint Petersburg at age 6, after 6 years switched to brass section for tuba. During that time, I discovered talent and great interest in drums, at 13 played the graduation concert with 11th graders, then continued playing music resembling Grindcore with those guys. Need to say genre is challenging, extreme, fast, leap was from place in harness, but mostly everything worked out. Unfortunately, no recordings remain.
Later, in 2013, I was invited to play drums in the band Cassandra's Complex, and bass guitar in the band Psychic Deviation. Both bands had quite active performance periods, recorded a significant amount of material, played numerous concerts, wrote many non-standard and experimental compositions in heavy metal genres. There was also a jam collective, we chose a genre at the intersection of Psychedelic Rock/Space Rock, organized parties at rehearsal bases. Ah what a carefree time... Having gained experience and played the last concerts, it was decided to dissolve Psychic Deviation and focus on another, easier and more promising project Free Sadness.
In 2016, after futile attempts to like college, I go to the army. Due to my musical background, I'm taken into the regional Chief Headquarters Orchestra. There I actively play tuba and drums, prepare for Victory Day concert on Palace Square, and thanks to the indulgences, during rare free time I start learning music computer composition. I write jazz low-fi beats, figure out sequencer capabilities.
After army service, my friend and I co-produce three tracks for Free Sadness band in Dark Pop genre. I also create my own band OVERRATED, where we play Southern Rock/Screamo music, and I also make my first mix of my own recorded drums. The first mixing experience, track is still available exclusively on VKontakte.
Later I produce a track from ESKIN artist's first album, who still functions. Approximately at the same time, we with friends open a venue-space in Golitsyn Loft, collect a cover band lineup, rehearse, perform, gain experience.
2019 year, I start teaching drums, and enter freelance market, write tracks to order.
I start playing with MARAK band, where we half a year write and record Black Metal/Blackened Hardcore genre tracks. Listen on Bandcamp.
In 2021 I start working at A80 studio in Vsevolozhsk town, then transfer to TO99 studio in St. Petersburg, record and mix a lot in studio format. Approximately at this time collaborations happen with artists "Oh, Excuse", BAZOOQA, Malina Scar, Ernesto Shut Up, about 5 multitrack drums recordings, many other studio experiences. I also complete cinematography courses, then directing and editing commercials, and start shooting commercial videos for social networks.
In 2022 I actively continue teaching drums, collaborations with Nagnibeda and BLESK, and also planned to open my own drum school-studio. At the end of the year I moved for a year to Kazakhstan and continued teaching drums in local STRUNA school in Shimkent city.
In 2023 it was decided to collect all demos of my personal YFRO project in last 5 years of experiments in one conceptual album at 100+ tracks... In 2024 work "DEMO" came out, and counted 32 tracks, I understood that to cope with such volume of worked tracks like I envisioned, I would need at least 3 more years to spend. The album didn't find popularity, but those who wanted to notice it did, and it still remains my excellent sound design portfolio. Overall, since 2018 I periodically release my music, and can only say that each time it was a new experiment, challenge to myself to do a track in such or other style, tame that or other concept. Currently work on the project is not conducted, but plans to create a less experimental identity.
In 2024 and 2025 I live in Moscow, do music, which majority is presented on the site. Currently I live in St.Petersburg, study neural networks, plugin creation, and arrange my new home studio.
